Cad Drafting
CAD Drafting -High school students compete in a contest at the local, regional and national levels. The students are presented with a “Design Problem” that is designed by a licensed Architect or Engineer and generic enough to meet the needs of all areas of the US.
Our 2008 competition was held at the Sabin-Schellenberg Center in Milwaukie
. The Sabin-Schellenberg Center is part of the North Clackamas School District
No. 12 and draws students from Clackamas, Milwaukie and Rex Putnum High Schools
. Nancy Merchant is the CAD instructor and has used the NAWIC CAD competition
as part of her curriculum for several years.
The 2008 winners are: 1st place: Ross Khodakovskiy
2nd place: Ashley Cranston
3rd place: Trevor Nims

We appreciate Sherri McCurdy – Philip R. McCurdy Architecture,
PC, our NAWIC
member who chaired this event, and Philip McCurdy who gives much of his time
to CAD mentoring.
Ross Khodakovskiy went on to compete among other Region 9 Chapter winners
and placed 1st Place for the Region 9 Award.
